Deloach Cabernet What to drink during the recession

All about Deloach Cabernet:

What's a person to do in theses perilous times? Stock market crashing everyday. Fools running for President. The world on the brink of a global stockmarket meltdown. The only answer to me is to drink wine!! At least I can still enjoy something. California wine is still affordable if you don't go crazy. There are still some bargains out there, though I don't know for how long considering California is always on fire! Seems like California is always on fire. Just another excuse to raise the price of their wines.

My husband and I had visited Deloach Vineyards during the summer and were impressed by their wines, especially the Pinot Noir. I did not see Pinot on the wine list so had to settle for a Cab, which was quite enjoyable. Nothing spectacular. Just a little above " good for everyday" drinking Cabernet.Nothing too complex with some firm tannins and good balance. In the glass it was deep garnet with some nice legs. The nose was currant with hints of blackcherry. The finish was not extraordinary; short. I would say this bottle would only get better with 3-5 years of age time.

Would I but another bottle? Yes, but I might even decant this one. Additonally, judging a bottle in a restaurant is sometmes difficult because one never knows how the wine was stored.+
