Drink it. think it. write it!
Drinking for a cause
Wine brings people together for many reasons. It brings laughter, joy, creativity and song into our lives. It even brings people together for charitable causes.
And somehow even during a time when some wineries have seen a downturn in sales there are still wineries that have the heart to carry on their life’s work while producing great wines and giving charitably. Many of these wine producers and entrepreneurs have a passion for not only the grape but for giving charitably. Some are small family owned and a few even donate 100% of the wine sales to charity.
This past week Iron Horse Vineyards joined in a global partnership with National Geographic to help restore the ocean’s health and abundance. With every purchase of 2005 Ocean Reserve, Iron Horse will donate $4 to the program. The official National Geographic website detailing the new initiative is highlighted here ” I Am The Ocean”.
” The ocean directly impacts our micro-climate. It creates the fog that makes our wines so distinctive. Sadly the ocean needs help,” remarks Joy Sterling, CEO of Iron Horse Vineyards. ” Ocean Reserve is our way of giving back.”
The Ocean 2005 Reserve is a new sparkling to be added to their world class sparkling portfolio. Iron Horse has created three labels for the 2005 Ocean Reserve making them a collectible set. To date Le Bernardin in New York City and a host of many other restaurants have added the Ocean Reserve to their wine lists. You can buy Ocean Reserve online here.
